Tub-to-shower conversions
Remove the tub and build a shower, including the pan and waterproofing, not a panel kit over a tired base.
1800 Construction Inc. remodels bathrooms: showers, tile, vanities, plumbing, and full renovations. We are a licensed general contractor, CSLB #1113641, not a handyman pass.
A bathroom remodel can stay in the same footprint or move the shower, the toilet, and the vanity. The price and the permit follow that choice. Same layout is finishes, fixtures, and waterproofing. A new layout is framing, plumbing, and usually a longer city review.
We schedule this work in Los Angeles, Burbank, and Glendale, and in the San Gabriel Valley: Glendora, Covina, West Covina, San Dimas, and Azusa. The same crew also covers nearby communities on those routes, including La Verne, Claremont, Walnut, Baldwin Park, Irwindale, and Pomona. There is no second storefront. The office is 3435 Wilshire Blvd, Ste 1400, Los Angeles, CA 90010, and the inspection happens at the house.

Glass, curb or curbless where the floor structure allows, and a slope that actually drains.
Floors and walls, with the waterproofing layer specified before the tile is chosen.
Vanity, top, faucet, toilet, and accessories, coordinated so the rough-in matches the fixture you picked.
Fan, recessed lights, and a circuit plan that matches how the room is used.
Valve replacement, a shower move, or new supply lines when the old ones are the real problem.
Recent bathroom work. No city is named on these, because the photos were not labeled with one.

Often about $15,000–$35,000. Fixtures, vanity, and finishes. Plumbing stays put.
Often about $35,000–$75,000. Tile, shower, lighting, and waterproofing in the same footprint.
Often $75,000 and up when drains, walls, or the doorway move.
Planning ranges for the Los Angeles area in 2026, not a bid. Older houses in Glendora, Covina, and central Los Angeles often hide galvanized lines or a shower that was never waterproofed. That shows up at demolition and belongs in the allowance, not as a surprise invoice.
If the roof is part of the same contract, see roofing. If the bath is one room inside a larger plan, see whole-house remodeling.
A same-layout bathroom is often about 2 to 4 weeks of construction once the tile, vanity, and fixtures are on site. Moving a drain, waiting on custom glass, or opening walls takes longer. Permit review, if the city requires it, happens before that clock starts. The estimate includes the schedule for your scope.
In the City of Los Angeles, a permit is generally required when you move plumbing, change electrical circuits, open walls, or rebuild a shower. A true like-for-like fixture swap can be different. Glendora, Covina, West Covina, San Dimas, Azusa, Burbank, and Glendale do not use LADBS. Each city has its own building department. We will say in the written scope whether your job needs a permit and who pulls it.
For 2026 planning in this area: a same-layout refresh is often about $15,000 to $35,000, a full remodel that keeps the plumbing in place is often about $35,000 to $75,000, and a layout change is often $75,000 and up. Tile, glass, and a plumbing move are the usual reasons a number jumps. This is not a package price. Your estimate is itemized after we see the bathroom.
Usually yes if another bathroom stays usable. We will tell you which days the water is off and how the room will be closed off. If it is the only bathroom, say that when you book the inspection so the schedule accounts for it.
If the job is permitted, the city inspector signs off. The contractor of record should be the one scheduling that inspection. Ask for that step to be named in the contract before you sign.
Tell us about the house and what you want changed. We reply within one business day to schedule the inspection. No obligation.
